The children of Joe Corbett re cently presented their father with the birthday dinner they stage for him annually. He was 74. Mr. Corbett was bountifully sup plied with gifts and congratula tions by his family and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Billy Creech and son of Raleigh, came Sunday to the Will Creech home. BKk The Ashby Tippetts have re- to Cove City, after spend ing their vacation with the Wade Tippetts. The Jeff Hortons were weekend visitors of the J. W. Suttons of Kinston, parents of Mrs Horton. Mr. and Mrs. Joshua Driver mo tored to Henderson Sunday for sightseeing. Bill and Carl Martin visited their mother, Mrs. Ara Martin, Sunday. Mrs. Roy Brown spent Wednes day with Mrs. Herbert Perry at Duke Hospital. Mrs. Herman Creech accom panied Mrs. Earl Creech to Healthy Plains Church Sunday for services and the picnic. Mrs. Ida Driver spent Sunday with her mother, Mrs. Murphy. Pete Creech, who is employed in a carbon paper factory in Atlanta, Ga., was home for the weekend. He was accompanied by his cousin, Bob Creech, of the same city. The Exum Creeches of Smith field have been vacationing at the home of the Arthur Creeches. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Moore were weekenders of Mrs. Lula Stallings. Mrs. Blanche Horton was hostess to the WMS at its monthly meeting last Friday night. Mrs. Ashley Creech and son are spending some time with Mrs. Crama Creech. Mr. and Mrs. Courtney Sadler of Littleton were Sunday afternoon visitors of their daughter, Mrs. Clio Vann. Mr. and Mrs. Craven Brown of Zebulon spent Saturday afternoon with the Dwight Browns. Little Elmerine Richardson was a weekend guest of her Aunt Hel en, in Raleigh. Mr. and Mrs. Dallas Price were in Pine Level Sunday afternoon, The Zebulon Record viewing the storm wreckage. Wade Tippett accompanied the Ashby Tippetts to the mountains the latter part of last week. Bedtimers of the Herman Creeches Wednesday night were Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Turner and son of Wendell. Mrs. Douglas Brown spent Sun day afternoon with her family, the W. L. Snipes. Mrs. William Driver visited her brother, Jack Willoughby, of Ken ly, Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Wade Tippett, ac eompained by the Zack Barbours of Smithfield, are vacationing in Morehead. The Herschel Fowlers of Virgin ia are spending part of their va cation with the Onnie Fowlers. Mrs. Arthur Creech visited her brother, Leonard Crowder, who is ill at Mary Elizabeth Hospital, Tuesday night. Dinner was picnic style, served on the spacious Corbett lawn. In addition to the picnic baskets brought by each of the children, barbecue with all the trimmings was served. All the children of Mr. Corbett were present except one, including 30 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. Gerry Gavitt of Baltimore, Md., were callers on the E. K.
