Two Lizard Lick News Mrs. Polly Fuller Mrs. M. B. Alford of Taberna- ' cle visited Mesdames E. B. Par rish, H. L. Hinnant and W. E. Fuller Wednesday of last week. Mrs. Nuber Bolton of Wake field is spending a few days with Mrs. Billy Gay and Mrs. Stancy Gay. Mrs. Billy Raper is with her par ents while her husband is on his way to Europe with the armed forces. Pvt. J. A. Hinnant of Camp Gor don, Ga., spent the New Year weekend with his wife and rela tives. Mrs. Billy Gay accompanied the G. C. Sealeys of Archer Lodge and Mrs. Ed Morgan of Clayton to Hamlet recently to visit rela tives. Mr. and Mrs. Billy Gay had a fish fry with the Sanford Pearces Thursday p. m. They visited the Joe Todds of Wendell after supper. Mrs. Millie Hinnant and Mrs. W. E. Fuller visited Mrs. Maggie Hor ton near Knightdale Wednesday a. m. Mrs. Horton returned with them. M. Hortons Saturday. Bill Gay has had an infected tooth. Miss Peggy Joyce Johnson is better after being ill with bron j chitis. Miss Barbara Martin and bro ther, Jimmy, both in service are spending several days with their parents, the Robert Martins. Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Gay vis ! ited the J. C. Evans near Fuquay Thursday of last week. The pretty warm days have put farmers to work on plant beds. Mr. Robert Martin had a heart attack Thursday night and is in the hospital. Mrs. Stancy Gay entertained at a quilting Tuesday afternoon. Sympathy goes to Mrs. J! V. Pittman due to the death of her father, Monday, near Columbia. Mrs. W. E. Fuller spent Mon day with Mrs. Lettie Ray in Ral eigh. Mrs. Billy Gay and Mrs. S. C. Pearce and Jackie visited the Rog er Phillips at Zebulon Friday. Mrs. Flora Gay spent Monday in Raleigh with the Howard Sealeys. Mrs. Winnie Liles and Mrs. Italia Liles visited Mrs. Oma Talton at the hospital Monday. The Zebulon Record HOPKINS CHAPEL Billy K. Hopkins Sings Solo Sunday Mrs. Iris Temple There were 205 at Sunday School Sunday If you were there you heard B. K. Hopkins’ solo render ed because of good attendance. Let’s make it 300 next Sunday maybe he will sing two songs. Allen Mitchell and Cecil Stroth er are sick. Billy Perry hurt his back last week working at Thomasville. Gary Hopkins recently drank a small amount of kerosene. He is alright now. Horace Baker has returned from the hospital. Our Pastor Johnny Caldwell and family returned from Kentucky last week. He spent Christmas in bed. He is better now. Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Perry and children spent the holidays in Cal ifornia visiting relatives. Drexel Rhodes and family visit ed the Bill Alfords Sunday. The Ben Pearces visited the J. O. Pearces Monday night. Mrs. Ronald Fowler recently visited Mrs. Hugh Pippin. Miss Sally Pearce is visiting Mr. Mallie Pearce at Pine Ridge. Mrs. Mack Bunn and Juanita are visiting Exie Bunn. Mr. and Mrs. Jasper Stallings of Raleigh visited the J. S. Stallings Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Edgar King are at Robert Kings now. Mrs. Bessie Hagwood and Mrs. Elec King recently visited the Zollie Kings. Roxie Bunn visited the Odell Edwards Monday. Walter B. Bunn of the Army is at home now. He will leave for Alaska about the 10th. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Mitchell were at home last weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Watkins of Raleigh visited the C. C. Perrys last weekend. Norma Faye Bridges was at home from Meredith College last weekend. The Baker Quartet sang at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Perry recently. They are making their home in Middlesex. • Classes will be held at the Mid dlesex School Saturday, January 8 and January 22 to make up two days lost due to bad weather. Mrs. Cecil Privette of Wilson was a visitor of her mother, Mrs. Earl Brantley, Sunday. Mrs. W. S. Williams, Sr., has re turned from a visit with her son, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Williams. Miss Kay Hensley of Spring Hope spent the weekend with Miss Cherry Lane High. Craig Chamblee of the McLean Truckong Company in Winston- Salem and husband of Mrs. Beulah Chamblee of Middlesex, has been awarded the 1954 best all round truck driver award. He and Mrs. Chamblee were given a 10 day free trip to Mfexico. They will be flown there the latter part of Jan uary. They also received many other gifts. Clifton Perry, Mrs. Losey Baker, Mr. Windel Perry, Misses Sue Richards, and Joyce Baker and Mr. Cecil Johnson. G. J. Perry and Annie Ruth Sledge visited the Garland Perrys last Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Wayne Pearce and Mrs. Cora Perry of Raleigh were supper guests of the Joe Bakers Saturday night. Miss Brenda Baker spent last weekend with the Eddie Byrums in Raleigh. Mr. and Mrs. Roland Gaddy and Tommy and Miss Jean Baker of Raleigh, the Joe Bakers and Jo Ann were visitors of the Losey Bakers Sunday. Friday, January 7, 1955 Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Finch of Burlington were Sunday p. m. visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Manning. Miss Joyce Williams returned Monday from Palatka, Fla., where she visited her sister, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Curtis. Saturday visitors of Mrs. Anna Morgan were Mr. and Mrs. A. Mor gan and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Mor ris of Wilson. Mr. and Mrs. David Wilson and family and Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Williams and family have moved to the Zebulon community. Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Morris and daughter of Nobles Chapel were recent visitors of Mr. and Mrs. John Morris. Rudolph Murray has enlisted in the U. S. Army. He is stationed in South Carolina, but will be sent to Ft. Riley, Kansas, later. Doris Rose Anderson, Peggy Mixon, Danielle Lewis, Brooks Baines and Billy Wayne Carter made the honor roll at the Middle sex High School. Mr. and Mrs. Mack McKinsey of Raleigh were recent visitors of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Noah Stallings. The Kenneth Brantleys of Roa noke Rapids visited the Earl Lew ises during the weekend. Mrs. Ada Taylor who has been in Raleigh for some time with her children was home for the week end. Tabernacle News The W. M. S. met Wednesday night at 7:30 in the assembly room at the church. Hostesses were Mes dames Pattie Parrish and Alice Pulley. Attendance last Sunday was 204. A good start for the New Year. The Pervis Richardson family are moving to Philadelphia. Mr. Richardson has returned for their belongings. Mrs. Carlton Alford and chil dren moved Saturday in the house occupied by the Pervis Richard sons. Mrs. Margaret Harris was at church Sunday after a long illness. Little Deborah Claffey returned from the hospital Thursday after being there 18 days from an ope ration. The little son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Allen is suffering from a hip condition. Mrs. Ruffin Holder has returned after spending Christmas in West Palm Beach, Fla., with the Joe Bakers.
