E. Fullers last Tuesday night. Mr. and Mrs. Cleveland Sealey and children of Hampton, Va., spent Friday night with Mr. and Mrs. Billy Gay. Mrs. Grover Arnold and Voncile, and Miss Norma Wiggins of New Hope were visitors in this section Saturday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Billy Gay and Bill had supper Saturday with the Jim mie Woottons of Wendell. Mrs. John A. Hinnant was hon ored at a stork shower at her home on Friday night. Refresh ments consisted of potato chips, pickle, pimiento sandwiches, cup cakes and punch. All game prizes won were given to the honoree. TABERNACLE NEWS Attendance Sunday for Sunday School was 215. The new organ has arrived for the church. We hope to have some one to play it at the Sunday morn ing service. , Commencement exercises for Vacation Bible School were Sun day night. The school closed Friday at 6:00 p. m. A picnic was on the church grounds Saturday at 6:00 p. m. The school enrollment for the week was 157 and the average attendance was 135. Mr. G. E. Hocutt was out for church Sunday after several months’ illness. Mr. and Mrs. Jimmie Walker of Greensburg, Pa., are visiting her parents, the Alma Alfords, for a few days. Mrs. Hubert Pittman, Mrs. Oris Richardson and son, W. H., return ed Tuesday from Ft. Campbell, Ky., after a visit with Sgt. Pitt man before he leaves for overseas duty July 10. Mrs. Peggy Hill and children of Burlington spent the holiday week end with the M. M. Alfords. Mr. and Mrs. B. W. A’ford and son of Winston-Salem visited his parents, the A. A. Mr. and Mrs. A. R. House have returned from a visit with their daughter (Jocelyn), Mrs. Spencer Turrentine of Bell Buckle, Tenn. While there the Turrentine fam ilies and Mr. and Mrs. House were entertained at dinner in the home of the President of Webb’s School for Boys. Miss Arlene Bullock from Grif fon is spending the weekend with her grandmother, Mrs. Theo. B. Davis. Mr. and Mrs. Theo B. Davis at tended home-coming at the Ken nedy Home in Kinston last Sunday. Gordan Keith Temple was home from Quantico, Virginia, during the July 4 holiday visiting his wife, the Gordon Temples, and the Russell Williams. He is recuperat ing from injuries received in an auto accident in April. Mr. J. W. Bowling is a patient at Park View Hospital in Rocky Mount. Mrs. Bowling and children from Washington, D. C., are visiting the Bobby Sherrons. Mrs. Elizabeth Ellett who has been spending some time in Vir ginia has returned home here. Miss Martha Williams of Clover, Virginia, is visiting her*sisters, Mrs. J. E. Ellett and Mrs. C. G. Weathersby. Dr. and Mrs. Lum Edwards of Wilmington, Delaware, were guests of Mrs. Ellett on Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Dwite Debnam and children of Rockingham will leave Sunday after a five-weeks’ visit with Mrs .Debnam’s mother, Mrs. O. D. Massey. Mrs. Jake Hadley and children of Greenville are spending a few days with Mrs. Hadley’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. J. Sexton. Miss Phyllis Braswell is at Camp Lapihio for two weeks. Mrs. M. B. Chamblee has spent the past week at Pamlico with her sister, Mrs. Mabel Blow of Green ville. Mrs. Paul Adams and daughter of Greensboro spent last weekend with Mrs. O. D. Massey. Miss Mary Alfriend of Macon, Ga., arrives today td visit Mrs. Wallace Chamblee. On Sunday Mrs. Chamblee, Miss Alfriend, Mrs. Ralph Talton, Miss Lady Talton, and Mrs. George Morgan will leave for Pamlico for a week’s visit with Mrs. Irby Gill at her cottage. Miss Jean Robertson attended the Ashworth- Adams wedding in Willow Springs Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. W. V. Baise, Jr. and Debby of Burlington were lunch eon guests of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Potter on Sunday. Mrs. Potter and son, David, and her guests visited Mrs. Potter’s mother, Mrs. J. M. Fretz, in Wilson Sunday afternoon. Mr .and Mrs. William Howard and daughters of Boston, Mass., are visiting Mrs. O. D. Massey for the week. Mr. and Mrs. W. O. Glover have returned after a three-weeks tour of Florida. The Frank Kemp family is be reaving the loss of their pet daughter, Lady Kemp, who died Wednesday morning following the excitement of Zebulon’s July 4 parade. She is survived by a son, Trigger, 7, and a daughter, Smoky, 8 weeks. The Kemps have request ed that no flowers be sent. Come to Stay Mr. and Mrs. Levie Smith of Raleigh announce the birth of a son last Thursday. Mrs. Smith is the former Ann Boyette of Corinth.
