Beaver’s Chapel Congregational
Christian Church had its regular
preaching service Sunday. The
sermon was delivered by the pas
tor, Rev. R. D. Bullock who used
as -a theme, “Reaching out for
Greaters Things.” He said that,
“Our discussion is centered
around Paul’s letters to the church
at Philippi. His letters are full of
encouragement to continue to
follow Christ, and to rejoice in the
Lord always.
Saul realized that he helped to
persecute the church, and also
held the coat for the men to stone
Stephen. But he states he could
forget those things and reach
forth unto things which are be
fore him. The things that help us
are those that are before us and
not behind us. It would be help
ful to us if we made an inventory
of both the good and the bad. We
should strive to do twice as much
good this year and eliminate all the
bal.
First, to press forward for the
prize we need a firm foundation
to meet unseen as well as the seen
in life.
Second, our foundation should
be builded on good character. This
will enable us to face tempta
tion.
Third, our character should be
based on the Truth. The Truth
will set us free.
Fourth, the Truth should be
firm with Grace. Grace is suffi
cient to preserve us from all
evils.”
Music for the service was ren
dered by the church choir with
Mrs. Christine Locke, pianist, as
sisted by Ocie L. Taylor.
Yates Johnson at Mary Elizabeth
Hospital Monday.

Dalton Pearce at Bunn last Fri
