The Stan Crews, Iris Temples and Rose had dinner with the Dee Copes Monday p.m. at Corinth in honor of the Crews’ anniversary and Mrs. Copes birthday. Rose Temple spent last weekend in Raleigh with Velva Pearce. Stan Crew has to report to U. S., N. A. S. Alameda, Calif., April 3, for further orders. Norman and Beth will be at my house for some time. The Edward Finches and the Crews visited Maxine Pearce and children near Chapel Hill Sunday. Minda Finch spent Saturday night at Rex Hospital with Gray Duke. Barbee Bunn of Raleigh was at my house Sunday p.m. Barbee and I visited Oda Doyle who has been sick. Barbee and Sam Doyle visited the Wise Doyles. Mrs. Wise Doyle has been ill. Carl Bunn has returned from the hospital. Mother Entertains At Bridal Shower Friday Miss Annette Batchelor and James W. Boykin, who will be married April at 5 p.m. in the Social Plains Baptist Church, were honored at a miscellaneous shower last Friday night, March 21, by Mrs. Donie Boykin and Mrs. Rossie Brantley. The occasion was held in the home of Mrs. Boykin, which was brightly lighted and had lovely ar rangements of spring flowers for decorations. uuests were greeted by Mrs. Boykin and the seven younger sons who also assisted in the entertain ment. Mrs. J. E. Wall conducted a program of humorous contests for which prizes were awarded. During the refreshment hour, assorted sandwiches, cakes, iced drinks and coffee were served by the hostesses. Miss Batchelor is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Batchelor of Route 2, Zebulon, and Mr. Boy kin is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Donie Boykins of Route 3, Zebulon.
