Harold Hamm and family and mother went to Tennessee to visit Mrs. Hamm’s people on Mon day for three days. Mrs. Helen Jones and Phil spent Sunday in Raleigh with the Perd Breslaus. Mr. and Mrs. Monroe Jones of Raleigh, and Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Winstead and Paula of Durham were there also. Mrs. Vera Rhodes visited the John Broughtons Christmas Eve. Mr. and Mrs. John Broughton I had dinner with the Lester Greens Sunday Some of the other chil dren came also. Mrs. Vivian Gordon is still hav ing back trouble and is a patient at Wendell Zebulon Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Debnam and Mr. and Mrs. Billy Carlyle of Ra leigh spent Christmas day with the Buddy Carlyles. Mr. and Mrs. Pug Hicks had Christmas dinner in Wendell with her mother, Mrs. Mitt Hocutt, and had supper with his mother, Mrs. Grace Hicks, in Wakefield. Mrs. Fanny Bolton had all her children, in-laws and grandchil dren home Christmas Eve. ' Mrs. Vera Rhodes visited the Man Creeches Christmas Eve. Mrs. Bertha Hood is spending Christmas week at Zebulon. She went to the Perry Reunion Christ mas day. Mrs. Bertha Hood’s family met at the Allen Hood’s, for the annual Christmas party Christmas Eve. Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Burnett and children from Riverside, Calif., are visiting Mrs. Burnett’s mother, Mrs. Lucy Carroll, for a week dur ing the Christmas Holidays. Mr. and Mrs. Royce Hood and children visited their parents, Mrs. Bertha Hood and Mrs. Lucy Car roll, for two weeks during the Christmas Holidays. Mr. and Mrs. D. A. Horton To Be Air Policeman Airman Basic Chester G. Hor ton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Luther S. Horton of Route 2, Zebulon, is being reassigned to Mino AFB, North Dakota, for training and duty as an air policeman. Airman Horton recently com pleted United States Air Force ba sic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. He is a 1962 graduate of Gethsemane High School at Bunn. _ Wendell Soldier In Bad Tolz, Germany Pfc. Joel P. Moody, son of Mrs. Bertie P. Jones of Wendell and grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Callie Powell of Zebulon, recently grad uated from the Seventh U. S. Army Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) Academy in Bad Tolz, Germany. Moody received four weeks of training in various military sub jects with emphasis on leadership and combat tactics. The purpose of the academy is to broaden the soldier’s professional knowledge and to instill in him the self-con fidence and sense of responsibility required of a capable leader. A mechanic in the 724 Ordnance Battalion in Munich, Germany, Moody entered the Army in Sep tember 1961 and arrived overseas in April, 1962.
