Mr. and Mrs. John Royce Hood
and sons were in Zebulon for the
weekend. They live in Greensboro.
Mrs. Bertha Hood is looking for
her son, Charles, August 1, for a
45 day furlough from Korea.
Mrs. Vera Rhodes spent Sunday
p. m. with Mrs. Alice Hood who
is sick.
Mr. and Mrs. D. A. Gay of Kin
ston visited her mother, Mrs. Alice
Hood.
Mrs. Bertha Hood visited Mr.
and Mrs. H. A. Hodge, Jr., and saw
Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Hodge and
son. She also visited Mrs. Alice
Hood.
Mrs. Vera Rhodes visited Mrs.
Early Hood Saturday a.m., and
stopped by Wake Memorial Hos
pital Saturday p.m. to visit Mrs.
Mamie, Wall who is critically ill
there. I also saw Mrs. A. D. Par
rish. She came home Sunday.
Charles flowers is a patient at
Duke Hospital.
Eddie Pippin is doing fine after
an operation on his hand.
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Ingram and
Ellen spent the weekend in New
Bern visiting relatives.

Bid-M Club Meets
Members and guests of the Bid-M
Bridge Club were entertained last
week by Mrs. James Alford. The Al
ford home on East Sycamore Street
was decorated with mixed summer
flowers.
Mrs. Jimmy Wheeler, Mrs. Alvin
Beck, Mrs. Bobby Sherron, Mrs.
James Debnam, Mrs. M. L. Hag
wood, Mrs. Jack Liles, all members,
and Mrs. Donald Stallings, guest,
completed the tables.
After the three progressions, the
tallied score pads revealed that Mrs.
Beck was high; Mrs. Wheeler, low,
and Mrs. Stallings, guest high. Each
received gifts.
A refreshment course of pecan pie,
party sandwiches, pickle and iced
tea was served. Cokes and jxetzels
were passed during play.
BIRTH
Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Wood Eddins
announce the birth of a son, Timothy
Harold, July 26 at Rex Hospital.
Mrs. Eddins is the former Marie
Hocutt of Wendell.
In this age of specialists the
