Malone was elected Recording Secretary of the Wake County Sunday School and BTU Convention and Mrs. Ora Webb of Wendell was elected assistant secretary. DUe to excellent and successful work done at White Oak Sunday School this year and for many years in the past, was awarded the Sunday School Banner on a 100% basis. T. B. Giles of Raleigh was reelected President of the Convention. Mrs. Ruth Morgan of Wendell was given a Life Membership to the Convention. Other Life Memberships are W. C. High of White Plains, N. Y., Mrs. M. N. Perry, M. D. Haywood of Raleigh, S. M. McCullers of Knightdale, Rev. J. F. Haywood of Raleigh and Mrs. Lizzie B. Askew of Zebulon. Dr. C. E. Askew preached the Men’s Day sermon last Sunday at Grace Memorial Methodist Church, Raleigh. Mrs. Minnie B. High of New York City is visiting her step daughters and friends of Zebulon, Mrs. Magdalene Privett and Mrs. Esther Ferrell of Route 4, Zebulon. Wake Baptist Association will be held with Pilot Baptist Church August 14 and 15. Jones and daughter, Char, of Lakeland, Fla. are visiting Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Baugh and Mr. and Mrs. Dover Hinton. Mrs. Mildred Hill and Mrs. Harlow Weeks of Clayton and Mrs. Ralph Hart of St. Pauls, Mo. visited friends on Friday in Wendell. Mrs. Westray Brantley is spending 2 weeks in Wendell with Mr. Brantley. Mrs. Jimmie Henderson and 3 children left Sunday to spend the week in Ga. with Mr. Henderson. Mrs. Joe Ferrell and Mrs. Marvin Todd attended the Robert Holloway funeral'in Raleigh Tuesday. Wilbur Underhill has been con fined to his home with pneumonia and is improving. Ed Andrews is a patient at Rex Hospital suffering from ulcers. Shelton Lewis suffered a ruptured appendix last Monday and is a patient at Wake Memorial Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Mullen were call to Mt. Pleasant, Tenn., Sunday due to death of Mrs. Mullen’s mother. Hurley Powell is a patient at V. A. Hospital in Durham. Mrs. C. P. Dean and Mrs. Coley Arnold spent Wednesday in Castalia with Mrs. Deans mother. Miss Rachel Raybon is a patient at Wendell-Zebulon Hospital. Mrs. Coley Arnold returned last week from a visit in Florida. Mrs. Robert Outland of Rich Square spent part of last week with her mother, Mrs. Oscar Griswold. Mr. and Mrs. Jourdan Harding and sons of Hyattsville, Md., spent the weekend with parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Bruch. Lisa & Sherry Harding returned with them. Mr. and Mrs. Miles Dean and 2 children are at the Joe High cottage at Top Sail Beach the past weekend. Mrs. C. A. Roberts returned by plane Sunday after a weeks visit at Lake City, Fla., where Mr. Roberts is on tobacco market. Mr. Waddell Roberts is improving after surgery at Wake Memorial Hos pital. Laurie Ledford has returned home from Rex Hospital after suffering from a bad case of shingles. Bill Britt left last week to visit European tobacco markets for Monk Henderson Tobacco Co. Mrs. Rudolph Roberts is visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bishop in Wilson this week while Mr. Roberts is in Ga. and South Carolina tobacco markets. Mrs. J. A. Wells will be glad to have her friends visit her at her home. She is not at Mayview Con valescent Home. Mrs. J. H. Sanders and Emmy left Sunday for a weeks visit with Dr. and Mrs. E. H. Powe in Hartsville, S. C. Mr. and Mrs. Linville Roach and 2 children of Greensboro were the weekend guests of parents. Rev. and Mrs. Joe Roach and Mrs. Harry Gerald. Mr. and Mrs. Barna Wilder of Wilson were Sunday supper guests of the Osbone Wilders. Willard and Millard Lewis of Windsor have been visiting rela tives in this section for a few days.
