' Tke trie af FarK If you are raising meat to aell.it will probably turn you out more to aell the hog whole in pork from the gallows. This is more important if the hogs are small as the lorn by shrinkage is considerable in small meat. Is costs more to raise a pound of pork than to raise a pound ' of cotton and we feel sure that pork should bring as much as ten cents per pound. This will give the farmer a profit from bis meat and we do not see how he can afford to sell it cheaper than this price. Con sidering the high price of many other things we are sure that rork should bring at least ten cents per pound. Men who run markets in all our towns are ordering consider able quanties of pork from the west and now is a good time to market some of ths hogs of this section if a suitable price can be obtained. See the market man in your nearest town and agree with him on a price and time to deliver the pork before you kill it. Gaodl Far The Drassaser. A fifteen-year-old girl in a neigh boring town, who was in the habit of meeting the train and flirting with train men. succeded recently in landing a beau. She gaily con sented when he asked to walk home with her. Her newly-formed ac quaintance asked to be led to her home, and arrived there boldy rang the bell. . Her mother came to the door and Mr Travler Man delivered a short lecture something like this: "Madam, here's your little girl; I picked her np at the depot, a place where a girl of her age should not go alone, unless on business. I have a daughter at home about the age of this one. I am away from home a great deal and don't know for cer tain whether my daughter meets the trains or not, but if she does, I hope some one will do that which I have done for you take her home to her mother." Little Helps Before putting the dishes in the pan, or pouring water . in the cook ing vessels, wipe off all grease and smear from the plates with soft old paper and burn the paper; use paper to clean the grease from the skillet and frying kettle. Tall glasses or flowers ' vases should have a good handful of clean white sand put in the bottom - to keep them from falling or being knocked over, ' Soak' the . new brooms In strong hot salt water, or soap suds before using them; this toughens the straws. Brooms cost ' so much that it is well to take care of them.;,'-s;fp.t?'??C:?: For cleaning the windows, mir rors or glass over pictures, use one of the cleaning preparations which come in cakes, warranted not to scratch. It beats water, soap suds, or other washes. A great many mothers have wor ried over fingerprints on the win dow? one Cat they would give wolI '3 to see once more. i iv: T h KIs Life. o I faced un .
