It seems to us thut one among the Important things to do In order to make our tobacco fair a great success in point of atleudauee is to secure low railroad rates. We know Col. Webu has been promised by tbe roads run ning in to this place cheerful co-otera-tlou In tbe matter of railroad rutes.aud we feel sure they will make considera ble reduction in fare, but we want the railroads to treat us like they treated Atlanta In the closing days of the ex position, For Instance, they gave a round trip rate from Winston .26, from Greensboro $5.90, from Durham fl.80, from Charlotte R40. This rate la but a fractlou over I cent per mile one way for round trip, aud it was this that ho.pt J to make the closing days of the fair the beU. If ,t ha railroads will eonte In and help us out with such a rate as this it will do more lo fill Winston with peo ple and crowd our fair with people than anything else that can be done. Cannot the railroads do a grand thing for Winston for once, make a rale of one cent a mile one way for the round trip. It Is worth sending a delegation from the -chamber of commerce to Washington to see Mr. Yorke, and one to Roanoke to see Mr. Bevel to accom plish this. Tub Journal would urge it upou our leading citizens as an all important move, ,ttAfj;ap it Ap beguu ton & ytteefl Sleeted.
