Mr. Vast on Miller is just recovering from a caHe of smallpox. The family has been vaccinated and Dr. Allen says they will not take it, as the vaccine op erated well. Rev. E. C. Sell, of the Eastern North Carolina Conference, now serving a pas torate iu Chatham County, was here Tuesday at the closing exercises of , the Mitchell Home High School. He was ac companied by his brother, Thomas J. Sell, of Albemarle. The school at Mitehel Home had its final closing Tuesday night. The ad dress before the graduating eiass was made by Rev. Mr. Pickens, of Albemarle. There were three graduates, namely, Misses Etta Johnson, Anna Ferrefl and Lottie Miller. Elder Rev. Ware preach ed the baccalaureate sermon Sunday morning at H o’clock. An entire new set of window sash is replacing the old ones at Beulah Presby terian church. Graetna Green affairs seem to be the order off the day just at this time, which have stirred up no little excitement iu the social circle. Their many friends will learn with in terest of the marriage on last Saturday night of Miss Javie, the attractive daughter .of Mr. and Mrs. P. E. Tucker, to Temple Jenkins, soil of Mr. and Mrs. S. A. Jenkins, of Stanfield. They were united in South Carolina Saturday night. Another surprise came Sunday night when Mr. T. Bascom Tucker and Miss Maud Hinson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. .Tames Hinson, of near Brief, went ito South Carolina and were married.
