How I Teach My Family Tidiness.
■ Mrs. E. L. A., in The Progressive
f Farmer.
| lam a farmer’s wife with nine in
1 family. I have six boys from four to
twenty-one, and one little girl nine
years old. When not in school the boys
ore busy in the field. They do he'p me
with the washing, milking and dishes,
but still they would leave clothing and
other tilings scattered ove rthe floor.
I' just could not do the work for a
family of nine and keep things looking
as nice as they should if I had to pick
up after them all the time. So I thought
of a plan. When my li’tle ones next left
their things scattered and could not
find them when they wanted to go some
place, I just let them stay home. So
they have learned to keep their things in
place. The larger children like to hnve
company. When friends were expected I
left their rooms just as I found them.
They are large imought to feel em
barrassed, so hnve learned to be tidy.
Now I shall tell you about my hus
band. He likes to have things looking ,
nice but if we are going to ebureh or
any place he a'ways is afraid of being
late. When I had all the kitchen to
clean up, milk to put away, house to
put in order, myself and the children to
dress, it was always, "Can’t you hurry
a little? We shall be late." For you see
the boys kad tended the outside things
and 'he hud shaved and dressed leaving
his clothes in the middle of the floor
just art he stepped out of them.
One Sunday after church was over he
invited the minister and his wife home
to dinne. This time I stepped back to
let my husband open the door and let
the company go in first. Can you
imagine bow my huyband felt when they
had to step over his clothes to get in?
Well, that cured him of untidiness.
Float and Flagg’s Cotton Letter.
New York. June 20.—The steady
tone of the market is its most impres
sive feature and suggests large possi
bilities if condition reports fior ithe
month fati to record 'the improvement
expected based on private advices. At
least three to five points is thought cer
tain with some hopeful of even more.
To what extent such a possibility has
been discounted can hardly be estimated
but no doubt something has been done
in that direction by selling for both ac
counts with the action of the market
suggestive of an extended and not very
confident short interest- Figures for the
week were moderately bullish but not
sufficiently so to bring in any broad
demand- There is still plenty of room
for surprises in connection with the
crop and with small stocks of raw
material and cheap money giving color
to predictions of an important expan
sion in business sellers are not
j inclined to be aggressive though it is
thought that more disposition toward
that will be noted next week if private
condition reports equal bearish hopes
and at present is in a state of flux and
flow and the process of crystaliza
tion can. hardly be said to have started.
' It will need, however, something dis
tinctly better than average conditions
for the balance of the season if the crop
is to reach 11,000,000 and that amount
would hnrdly constitute any serious
burden on prices.

Our Experience in Adopting Children.
E. P- S., in Tlie Progressive Farmer.
I say "our” experience instead of
"my, ’ as I believed most women are
born with ’hearts filled with mother
love; butt it is a good and noble ,man
who will toil to support outside chil
dren. My husband does that and show
ers them with a father's trrue love.
Our own little bo.v was four years
old, selfish and very lonely. My husband
consented to adopt a child, a blue eyed
boy about 21 months old, so emaciated
that he Staggered when he walked and
with a severe case of brornchitis. I was
a registered nurse before my mnrringe.
so with expert care and plenty of good
Jersey milk that boy is above normal
j weight today.
I When he was four years old, I went
, baby hunting again and returned with
i another blue eyed boy. \fith chronic
bronchitis, internal hemorrhoids and an
| umbilical hernia. He was about three l
| and one-half months old. With the same j
, treatment asthe first one, he is today a J
perfect child, above normal weight and (
I the finest little rascal in the state. J
Our three children receive exactly the (
same treatment, and love from us. They (
| ar fuly happy, lovable children, worth J
their weight in gold because they have (
brought sunshine to our souls. (
I plead vvith all parents of only chil- j
dren to open their doors and hearts to (
t'he unfortunate babes. Environment i
and home training count for more than J
all else. Last but not least, open your (
Bibles and read Matthew 25, verses 40 <
and 45.

Summer Hints
For Young Mothers J
Acute Indigestion <
Is A Food Problem !
It is hard cn a child to suffer indi- J
gestion in summer. - •. <
Usually there is fever and vomiting. <
apt to be very prostrating.
One way to prevent such attacks is (
to see to it that the child does not eat J
heavily whe novert-ired. j
Often the trouble may be traced to (
improper food, which should be stopped J
immediately. (
As for treatment, do not forget that •
in indigestion., the organs have quit op- ]
ernting, and the bowell is ful lof undi- <
gested food.
Don’t worry about the stomach—it
will empty itself. But give q good clear- i
ing out treatment. Liv-o-lax will do '
the Work thoroughly.
Then put the child on a very light i
diet for a few days.
You can get a good-sized bottle of
Liv-o-tnx at the drug store for 30c. <
