Experience Great ' Difficulty la Propelling Thmuaehwa. , Although three days are still ImAiUg until the advent of the month of March, blustery weather yesterday and today 1 gave indientiaas of the senson and gave i promise of the new month coming in—as i is its custofn—like a lion. It is still a j little early to say whether oc not h will i go out like a lamb. The windy weathey started shortly be- 1 fore noon and by mwl-afternoon a brisk breeze was blowing from a Southwesterly ' direction. Small boys immediately be tliotiglit themselves to hunl out their kites and soon had a number of them tiy :ng over the city. Tlie clearing between the Central Methodist Church and the I'. M. C. A. had quite a group of chil dren on it with two of the youngsters trying in vain to get their kites to stay up. However, either the intermittent breeaes or poorly balanced kites or possi bly both caused them to have little'suc- . eess/ Several fathers from neighboring hous es came out to show then- offspring how it was done but did but little better with the recalcitrant kites. In other sections of the city, boys were more successful and bad tbeir "birds" fly ing high over the housetops in customary laay fnshioif. , During thr night, the wind almost ap proached a gale and thr strong winds were continuing all during the morning today and during the early part of the afternoon. , The ladies of Concord suffered .most d : seomfiture as a result of short skirts aud high winds. Since fashion has de creed that the dresses must be both short and tight, the women had trouble propell ing themselves against the wind. One young woman with a skirt particularly short aud very, very tight was seen re volving down I'nion street in circular manner. Her progress was a series of circles. When asked about her peculiar plrouettjng she replied: "Oh dear, I am having such a dreadful time with this skirt. It won't stay down and the only way I can walk is to turn round and round." Thereupon, she continued her gyra tions down the street, much to the amuse ment of the loating populate.
