J Raleigh) April 11. —Two and fifty cases of smallpox reported in North Carolina last month caused State health officials to renew their plea for universal vaccination, said Dr. F. M. Raleigh, April 10.—There were 80,; 490 babies tern in North Carolina, the whole union's champion birth rate state, in 1924. This total was announced by the vital statistics department of the State board of health today. Tim. 1924 total exceeds that of 1923 by 2,5100. In 1923 there were only. 84,- 190 births reported.
