In a game in the pitchlag of
Robert Bell featured tile contest, the Y".
M. C. A. team of the city league and the
IleMolay’s of the same trihe played six
innings to a 1-1 tie Thursday evening in
I the regular weekly game.
Beß. who made his prist ipe appearance
for* the Y team, held his opponents at
bay during the entire game, allowing
them only two hits, one of which was of
the scratch variety. Speed/ combined
with a few curves served him in good
stead, 11 of his oposiug batsmen falling
by the strike-out route. He was a bit
wild at times and issued five walks.
Varner with two hits led in the batting.
The tie will be played off next Tuesday
afternoon.
