Green, who has tak en the rural route which was formerly carried by Col. George W. Means. This is a Paramount picture, with Bebe Daniels and Rod La Rocque. A number of local fishermen hur ried to their favorite fishing holes on Monday ami today. The cool weather makes the fish bite better, they argue, and they wauted to get in a full day of the sport while conditions were right. Although several reductions have been made in gasoline prices recently, local filling stations seem unable to agree on prices. At some of the local stations the price is 25 cents while others are selling it at 24 1-2 cents, this price including the four cent State road tax. Another reduction was made Monday but it applied only to middle western States. Western North Carolina has been unusually dry this season, but this fact has not kqpt hosts of Concord people from visiting Asheville, Black Mountain, Chimney Rock, Blowing Rock and other places in the western part of the State. It is said that a least a hundred Concord and Cabar rus county people went to the “Land of the Sky” Sunday for the day.
