not going to school at all, or only a

duction in federal aid for state high
ways.

president will suggest, in his message

test against such action is under

The telegram to the chief executive
follows:
“Rumored that your message will
suggest aid for State high

this is untrue, because motorists in
North Carolina are strong for full

near future to a modern $220,000 ,
heater and office building- The old 1
hotel is located on a beautiful lot on
East Broad Street. The new- struc
ture 'which is to take its place will
be seven stories high, with stores
and theater lobby on, the first floor,
office rooms on five floors and an as
sembly ball on the top floor. The
theater, according to plans announc
ed by C, O. Stearns, one of the lead
ing promoters of this new’ enterprise,
wi'l be the rear of the building and
will have a seating capacity of 1200,
with a- large stage. The theater has
already been leased to a national
■ producing syndicate which will spend
' around $20,000 on equipment and in
terior decorations.
