Aurora Borealis, doing strange cap
ers in t'ae far north, has brought down
the wrath of radio fans here. There
lias been statie in great volume and
those with interrupted programs blame
the weather phenomena for all of the
trouble.
Ten defendants in. recorder’s court
Monday paid tines and costs totalling
$333.15. Three other defendants were
given until Friday to pay their fines
and cost totalling SIBO. One man
charged with driving an auto while
intoxicated paid SIBO.
Officials of rile Cabarrus Oounfy
Fair hope to be able to contract a big
football game for Friday of the 1028
fair. The infield at the fair grounds
is an ideal place for a game and it
is hoped that two college teams can
be secured for next year.
Improvement is reported in the con
dition of George Styles, of Rome, Ga.,
who was hurt in an accident on the
race track at the Cabarrus Fair last>
week. He was rushed to the Con
cord Hospital after the accident in
which he suffered three broken ribs.
W. H. Johnston, commissioner has
sold to J. L. Alexander for $1,290,
property in No. 1 township, accord
ing to a deed filed 4iere Monday. An
other deed records the sale of prop
erty in No. 4 township by M. F.
