Me- 1 Connell post of the American Legion j will be installed at the meeting Fri day night. All members of the post are urged to attend. The meeting j will begin at 7:45. The November meeting of the board of aldermen will be’ held at the city hall on Thursday night at 8 o'clock. So far as is known now no business matters of special importance will come before the meeting. Nine defendants tried in recorder's court Monday paid $134.70 in fines and costs and another was bound over to Superior Court on a larceny charge. It is alipged be stole a diamond ring and carried it to Salisbury for sale. Dr. J. A. Shauers, who was hurt re cently when bis car turned over near Greensboro, returned to Concord Sun day. He is now in the Concord Hos pital recuperating from a serious in jury to one shoulder which was badly crushed in the accident. There was little change in temper ature here Monday. law tempera tures prevailed throughout the day and the mercury stood about as it did Sunday night after the sudden change from warm to cold weather Sunday afternoon. Improvement is reported today in the condition of Ebb White, who un derwent a serious operation at the Concord Hospital several days ago. While Mr. White’s condition is im proved he is not yet out of danger, it is said. More premium lists have been sent in to Dr. T. N. Spencer, secretary of the Cabarrus County Fair and as soon as the otiiers reach him be will mail premium checks. This matter has been delayed a little this year due to the number of exhibits. Friends and patrons of The Times and The Tribune are invited to hear the election returns at this office to night. A leased wire has been in stalled and Associated Press reports win begin coming in as soon as any thing ia available. State and na tional returns will be received on the leased wire. W. O. W. NOTICE.
