The post office will be closed tomor
row except that the general de
livery window will be open from 8:30
a. m. to 10 :30 a. m. There will be
no city or rural deliveries.
All offices in the court house will
be closed tomorrow, it was stated this
morning. With the exception of the
police department, all offices in the
pity hall will be closed also.
There will be a public installation
of the Hi-Y and Hi-G Clubs, of the
Y. M. C. A. Tuesday night. There
will also be an initiation of both the
senior and junior Hi-Y Clubs.
No session of the recorder's court
will be held this afternoon, police of
ficers stated rtiis morning. All cases
which have developed since Monday
have been continued until Friday.
The Y. M. O. A. will be closed
Thursday and the regular Thursdny
flasses will not be held, it was said
today. There will be" a volley ball
practice Thursday night, it was said-
W. J. Ross, employed at the Na
tional Lumber Co., suffered a painful
injury to one of his hands Tuesday.
The hand was caught in a machine
and one finger had to be amputated,
it was said.
No meeting of the Concord Ki
wanis Club will be held this week.
Due to the fact that a number of
pembers plan to be ont of the city
it has been decided to call off the meet
ing this week.
Carl Patterson, of Landis, who was
hurt in an auto accident here several
days ago, returned to his home dur
ing the day. He was taken to the
Concord Hospital here immediately af
ter the accident in which he suffered
lacerations and bruises.
Public schools of the city closed this
afternoon for the remainder of the
week for Thanksgiving. Many out
of-town teachers are expecting to leave
this afternoon for their homes to spend
the holidays with relatives. Work
■ will be resumed in the schools Mon
day.
Thanksgiving service will be held
in St. James Lntheran Church - to
• morrow morning at 6:30. For a num
ber of years this service has been
largely attended and a large congre
gation is anticipated tomorrow. The
offering will be made for the orphans'
home.
There will be a Thanksgiving ser
-1 vice at Bt. Johns Lutheran Church
Thursday evening at 0:30. The ad
dress will be made by Rev. M. It.
