Police officers this morning stated
that everything was quiet in their
circles. No session of the recorders
court was held yesterday afternoon
and no eases of special interest were
reported during the day, the officers
added.
The Supreme Court has upheld the
decision in the case of Archibald vr.
Swaringen and Bnrnhardt which was
sent up from Cabarrus. A jury in i
Superior Court gave the plaintiff a j
verdict of about $1,300 and the de
fendants appealed.
W. P. Sherrill, who was recently se
riously hurt when kicked by a horse
and who underwent an operation at
the Concord Hospital, returned to his
home in No. 2 township yesterday.
His condition is greatly improved, hos
pital attaches stated.
The basketball team of the Wineeoff
high school and the Kannapolis Junior
“Y” basketball team will play a pre
liminary game before the game of the
Concord Y. M. C. .A. team and the
team from China Grove. The games
will be played Tuesday, December
21st.
School children of Concord will be

night announced that the college has

Rebuilding Burned Structure

Chambers building in November. 1021.

It represented 'an expenditure of
$200,000. Original plans ealled fhr
$400,000 for the new administration
structure, but enlargement of' them •

require a total of $600,000.
Before the jrresent south wing was
1 completed, classes were held in tem
porary buildings, and other structures
inadequate to proper work but neces
sary under the stringent circum
stances.
