Miss Mary Hunter, of Johnson City, Tenn., visited home folks here last week. Miss Margaret Johnson, of High Point, was the guest of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Ance Johnson, last week end. Miss Pauline Elliott, of War rensville, spent the week end with home folks at Stagg’s Creek. Mrs. W. P. Shoaf has been very ill. D. D. Weaver, of Amy, N. C., is a patient in a hospital at Win ston-Salem. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Walker, and son, attended the funeral of Mrs. Lee Goodman, Sunday. Mrs. Ray James and Mrs. Ben nie Hartsoe were honorees at a miscellaneous shower last Wed nesday evening. The honorees received a num ber of lovely gifts and all those present report a very pleasant evening. T.-Sgt. Clarence Ashley is at home at present. He has been stationed at Fort Ord.
