WSCS Officers Named At Meet IMrs. Bernard Graybeal In stalled As President; Others Chosen Officers for the coming year ■were installed at the meeting of the Woman's Society of Christ ian Service at the meeting at the nome of Mrs. Norman Duvall, hast Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. Bernard Graybeal was in stalled as president and named to serve with her were Mrs. Earl Graybeal, vice president; and Mrs. Dtwey Sells, secretary. Var ious committees were also ap pointed to serve. During the business session, plans were also made for t.ie annual Christmas party which was held Tuesday night at the church. Gifts were exchanged by the members. The hostess served a delicious course of refreshments, sugges tive of the Christmas season to the guests who were present. And Mrs. Hoyt Wood, Here, Friday Night Members of the Wesleyan Srvice Guild of the West Jef ferson Methodist church, together with specially invited guests, en- j joyed the annual Christmas par ty at the Methodist parsonage, Friday night. j The ladies of the guild served i delicious dinner, buffet style. | Christmas carols were played luring the dinner. The home of the host and host ess. Rev. and Mrs. Hoyt Wood.. was attractively decorated with | ornaments suggestive of the Christmas motif. In the corner i of the living room was a lighted Christmas tree and presents which were exchanged by the mt mbers were placed under it. Following the dinner, gifts were i exchanged and toe guests were | each given special gifts. Informal group singing was en Bride - Elect Is Feted At Parties Miss Elizabeth Ann Diggs, whose marriage to Mr. Wade E. Vannoy, Jr., will be solemnized in a church ceremony here Sat urday evening, has been honored with a number of parties. Misses Helen Roland and Eve lyn Dare Vannoy entertained with a kitchen shower on Satur day night at tne Roland home. Contests were played and the bride received many gifts. On Tuesday night, Miss Jennie Clyde Worth entertained infor mally at her home in Jefferson. The bride was presented with a gift. A handkerchief shower was given by Mrs. Charles Ring and Mrs. Sam L. Davis at the home of Mrs. Ring on Wednesday night. A number of guests were present. joyed after the presentation of gifts. The group was accompanied by Mrs. Millard Graybeal at the piano. » 4-H CLUB MAKES HOLIDAY WREATHS _ A Christmas program was pre I sented at the December meeting of the Grassy Creek 4-H Club held at the school building, when Christmas stockings were filled and a game of Christmas carols was played.
