We, the undersigned citizens arid tax-payers of the town of Rox boro, believe that thetim : has come when we should have better build ings and better equipment for the public schools of our town. We therefore express ourselves as in favor of an issue of bonds by the town in the spring of 1 907 for the purpose of erectingsuiiable build ings; and we pledgs ourselves to support a bond issue of a sufficient .amount to erect such buildings and furnish such equipment as our pub lic schools need. A.m. - -" 7 "-" HOUSE of representatives; Washington. January 1 1th, 1907.; Prof. N. C. Newbold, 1 Roxboro, N. C. Dear Sir: Your letter of the 8th re ceived. In my judgement the Rox boro Graded Schools need much better school buildings, and I think the only way to get new buildmgs at art early date is to issue' bonds. I believe the legislature should grant to the people of Roxboro an elec tion for a sufficient amount of bonds to erect suitable buildings and I do not doubt that such an election will result, as it ought to result, in favor of bonds, provided that the proposed location of the buildings is at all suitable and the people are satisfied that they will get value re ceived for the amount proposed to be invested in a new site. However, before I he election is had; Ltake'ltth of the citizens will be held, at which the question pertaining to the new location can be practically settled With best wishes, Yours truly, W. W. Kitchin. Gulford Law yers Petition Legislature to Make That Countya Judicial Dis trict. ' .- Mi.". ;Greensboro, Jan. V, 12. At a meeting of the Guilford County Bar Association this afternoon it was decided to petition the present ses sion of the General Asembly to cre ate a new and separate judicial dis trict of Guilford county. It is be lived that the' legislature will grant the request. It wast first thouget best to include another coun ty, but this idea was abandoned. The idea is to allow the judge of the new district, to hold court; here as much of the time as is necessary, which will probably be alPof the tims and if not, to go .o other counties where dockets are congested; to spend the other part of his time It is believed that Judge Shaw willtbe the judge of the district created; and Solicitor Brooks willi it is understood, not oppose the change. This will be his district and soms oneelse will tal e the remainder of what is now the ninth district, in which J. Crawford Biggs is judge. :J , , A committee wasf appointed, con sisting of A.
