The above, shows that in the elec
tion Tuesday the Democrats lost
three Senators and the Republicans
gained three, making the Demo
cratic majority in the upper house
of the 1909 General Assembly 36.
The Republicans have gained two
districts the twentieth and thirty-
fourth. The twenty-eighth; twentyr
ninth, thirty-sixth and thirty-ninth
districts had Republican Senators
last session arfd will have again next
session. Six Democratic Senators
are sent back for another term, but
no Republicans.
In the lower house the Demo
crats have lost but two embers,
while the Republicans have'gained
