THE PASS BON PLAT read in JJte last issue of The yoar editorial concerning the Bible picture recently exhibited in the theatre in Roxboro, and I regret 1 they were not patronised as they ehould have been. If I had been in town or near by I would have gone, if I had had to borrow the admis sion fee. It seems to me that all of should be interested in pictures everything connected with the that would strengthen US iiiimi* tally, morally and spiritually. Why are Christian people so careless and indifferent concerning higher and. better things; It seems to' me wo should do all in our" power for the moral and spiritual progress and improvement of our country. I hope none of us are satisfied with present moral and spiritual conditions; but some church mem bers will say "I am free, I will go where I please." But listen to the answer of Gad to this, 1st Cor. 6:20: Ye are not your own for ye are bought with a price; therefore glori fy God in your body, and in your spirit, which is' God's. If ye then b? risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ pitteth on the right hand of God." "Set you affections on things above, and not on things on the earth." Col. 3: 12. The Good Boole tells us something about being blinded by the goods of this world, and it seems many are in that condition now. . Are these worldly goods able to comfort, de liver and save ? Good people think, consider, stop,- look, listen. People are 'what they think, what they feel, what they desire; their designs, in terns, purposes, our likes and dis likes tell what we are. "Ye can not serve (jid and mamon," says Jesus. If conditions are not improved we may expect drouth, storms and other judgments and punishments of a just and sin avenging God. I wish to thank Mess. Kirby Bros for their good Bible plays and pic rnn-i " Tl hhirwn lh>y nr? intfrritnd in the moral and spiritual uplift of our^people. Dear Lord, grant ?hat in the near future the good moral and spiritual plays and pictures will be what the people want, will be populaV and be patronised, and the low-grade im moral plays and pictures will be in the pat tense and die for lack of patronage. Your obedient servant, THAD K. J6NES" ' . FAMILY REUNION The children cf D. E. Peed had a family reunion at the old home place last Sunday, Sept. 20th. Seve ral of our relatives and- friends were present. We sang several old songs which we had heard our parents sing so many times, and with sadness the past came back to our minds afresh. We enjoyed meeting with our rela tives and friends very much but it was very sad that our parents ouldn't be there to enjoy them aleo. 3ut of coarse, we shoald be reccn :iled to the Lord's win, he saw fit o take 'them oat of this troublesome vorld to a world of peace and happi less, for I fully believe they are at ?est, and when the Lord sees fit to :aii the children I truly hope we hall be prepared to meet them, and ilso all the grandchildren. I have heard them speak so many times bow anxious they were that ,u all the grandchildren be prepared ? when callea to go to live in that E heavenly heme where we all when c srathered shall never be separated g *ny more. If there be any who are | not prepared it is my prayer that g they seek the Lord while they have B time and ? opportunity, for death | cometh in an hour we expect not. g MRS.
