The High Point Perpetual Building and Loan Association matured the third series with a navment of twentv per cent, ol the dues of the March payment. Making a record of eighty two mil one-fifth months. Mortgages to the amount ot S-'o.doo.oo were canceled from the records at Greensboro. Stock loans to the annnint of .S15.X25.tK were can celed and $5,275.00 was paid in caish on matured shares. 417 shares were in force on the ma- turitv ot 1 lie series. 1 ins was one of the best series of the associa tion. More good houses were aided in building than in anv other series. Not a dollar has ever been lost by the association and up to the present time there have been only two foreclosures and in these cases the property sold for more than the claim of the association The eighth scries will begin on April 1st and it is the desire of the officers to make this the larg est series yet organized. No organization has done so much for the upbuilding of the city and to encourage the saving habit as the Building and Loan Associations. This association is managed by conservative yet progressive men and it is the spirit of liberality, within the limit of absolute se curity that has made it a success. Davis will remove the frame building from the lot adjoining his home place. He will move the house he now lives in to this lot to make room for a handsome new resi dence, the plans for which have already been drawn.
