THE BUSINESS SENTIMENT I'.usiiie-s growth has al way been the slogan for High Point and while sonic cities have been inte-tcd with cheap dcniagoguc wbo h.ic worked p.ditic- and de elopcd but little tin- uU lu worked to higher and broadei ideals, and built a city with a -ub stantial fouiidati"ii. Never ha there been the -pint of liu-uie-upbuilding more wide-prcad than i- at pre-ent. and to, lav it 1- be uig more than ever emphasized by the upward progre of High Point which is to be the indus trial center of the South. Tim stronghold of our business life bar swept awav the abuses of politic and carried with it the small cheap politicians. n the other hand the strong merchant, manu facturer and other bu-ines- men constituting an enied citizenship have worked i t the lie-t tntere-t of the tow n and Republican and Democrat alike have encouraged em to do so I lerelofore upon it - o mpetencv 111 sticking to the 'iii-ine-- ideal, remaining loyal to that tru-t. and ebminating .-hea ;...l:i!.-taii- 'he bu-ine-s growth o 1 ligh Point ha- always been en hanced and - lav we believ r th. A LITTLE SHOP TALK That High I'oint easily lead todav a- a dominating factor 111 the manufticturing indu-trial lite of the state, indicates that town- building 011 broader lines lias be come a part of our commcrcia development. What lias been the result the strength of High Point industries has had the abilitv and character to impre-s upon the investing public that the stock in her indu-trial enter prises sell readily at a premium whenever it is known they can be bought. Though it is the ulti mate ambition of every nianufac turer to own his stock in toto because there is not one share among the total plants here that is watered or ran he criticised on this basis as unentitled to invest ment. The attention of the people throughout the country has been called to this piestion in a man ner that has carried high prestige for our city. LET US DEVELOP OUR CITY. The future developments of our city is entirely dependent upon the attitude of our people upon the bond issue. Business condi tions affecting and surrounding us Invite and demand the further extension of improvements af fording conveniences which have become absolutely necessary for further growth. The experience of the mayor and the hoard for the past year is such that they have adopted a policy that every investment has bourne a fruitful and material gain to the city's growth. The day has arrived with all leading cities when bond is sues are popular. This fact is evidenced on all sides by the vot ing of improvement bonds throughout "our state and aggres sive movements in all municipal affairs. The advantage of a bond issue for the extension of those conveniences necessary to the growth of the city where ready cash funds are not at band is to, plain, and il is not probable thai High Point will permit it self to take a backward step next Tuesday. Bonds will mark the begining of a new era in furth ering the improvement-, which is intended to benefit every citizen property owner in High Point.
