It will be observed .; as we go alone- that Woodrow Wilson is ??not losing any strength. . i O- . One of the branches of the gen- -;eral inquisition now going on at Washington has summoned Mr. Brvan to hear what he knows about the "Money Trust." We believe Mr; Bryan will have an interesting story to tell. o ' - The Charlotte Chronicle was opposed to Editor Varner enter ing politics and now that they have begun to jump on Varner the Chronicle says: "I told you so.'' We don't know how many recruits Varner will get but be fore he gets through the people over the state will know that Underwood is running. 0 The Enterprise has received a copy of the Bulletin issued by the Greensboro Chamber of Com merce. It is well gotten up and the reading matter contains in formation about Greensboro and the county which is very useful, especially to home seekers and those interested in this, section. The Chamber of Commerce has done the right thing in resorting to printers ink and the idea of a Bulletin as this one is a capital one. The attitude of a class of peo pie in some of the towns in the State on prohibition is unfair. They would have whiskey and beer in their clubs in spite of the law. If these people think that the law is unfair or one that abridges their rights, let them Deiore tne legislature to nave 11 repealed. Any other course is unfair to the large majority of people of the state who have ac cepted the mandate of the statute and do not try to avoid it. DISGRACE TO STATE. Said Judge Long of a Decision of a Buncombe County Jury. Asheville, Feb. 7. Declaring that the verdict rendered was to- totally at variance with the evi dence presented, Judge B. F. Long of the Superior court in the case of the State against P. H. Thrash, charged with violation of the "search and seizure" law. this afternoon discharged the jury which, he said, was "a disgrace to the State." Thrash was convicted in the lo cal police court some months ago of having more liquor in his pos session than the law allows. He appealed to the Superior court and the jury today after an hour's de liberation returned a verdict of not guilty. o BEAUTIFUL RECEPTION IS GIIVEN BY. MRS. DALTON (Winston Sentinel.)
