I'win's leotures bdfore this insti tution are really interesting to teachers. Monday morning he discussed "School Management" under the heads of punishment, interference of parents, duties of teachers. etc. It is worth the while of any one en gaged in teaching, who doesn t already kno w it al 1 . to hear these leotures. The ioctor has been engaged in teaching I for hi any years, he understands human nature thoroughly, hence his ideas on school management are practical and instructive. We hardly think the attendance at ; this institution is creditable to the col ored teachers of this section of the State. ! It strikes us that if they are as interest- ; ed in educational matters as they have 1 been represented as being, there would i i be near two hundred teachers present ' instead of thirty-tive. Our friend Daniels of the Kinston Free Pros assuming that we were al lowing our columns to be used to fur ther the interest of the Republican party of Lenoir county, offers "a friendly word." We would be willing to take it as a "friendly word,'" but w hen we know that wa pay our corres pondent to write us the news, without trying to further the ends of any nolifji cal part-; and when wc know, and have reason to Uvdifeve that I3ro.
