Democrats say "just what we needed." The crowd at Piney Grove was small on Saturday and some of the negroes were drunk and noisy. Mr. D. H. Harrison has an opponent. Mr. W. H. Andrews, an indepen den c Democrat and introduced him self as such for the office of Treas urer. Messrs. To8cue and Green, candidates for the Legislature, had a lengthy and spirited discussion. We must say that they made the best syeeches that we neard, and surprised us all in their debating Dowers. Foscue met Greene's arguments successfully, and threw him on the defensive, carried the war in his own territory. The Demcrats need have no fears, their cause is in good hands and Fescue is able to more than compete with his op-j ponent. 15.
