For many years the University has held a high rank among the best educational institutions of the country. The blessings which it has conferred aie incalculable, and it deserves to be fostered by the State and patronised by the peo ple. It is equally a matter of scif gratulation that the denomination al schools and colleges are ably conducted and are contributing immeasurably to the general in telligence and progressive develop ment of North Carolina.
