Thonght It Wu A.n Outrage.
An old gentleman visited tbe Fair on
Thursday and while pawing through
machinery ball became interested in
the wood pulp exhibited by tbe S. H.
Grsy Manufacturing Company. When plentiful a If 1
he ceme to the chemicals that are used per ikven.
ia the procese of making tbe pulp he
inquired what they were. The infor
mation was given him and he at once
inquired. "Are they products of North
Carolina?" ' Mo," replied Mr. Young,
who was ia charge. "Well," said he,
I think it a d n outrage to exhibit
anything that is not the products of
North Carolina."
Capt. Young explained to him that
the chemicals were only exhibited for
the purpoae, of explaining tbe process
of reducing the wood to pulp, but this
did not seem to satisfy the old gentle
man, as be had been led to believe that
this was strictly a North Carolina exhibit.
