This will give emplopment to onr own people in the handling of our own products, and keep at home an enormous amount of money that goes annually to the improvement and wealth of other sections. Prompted by these considera tions, and acting under instruc tions from the State Alliance, the committee on bagging has made satisfactory arrangements with manufacturers to secure cotton bagging for the farmers of this State. It the Alliance thoughout the State will meet at once, and make up theij orders and send either to S. Odenhiemer, Lane Mills, 2ew Orleans, or L. Lanier, West Point, Ga., with satisfactory reference as to commercial standiDg,their orders will be honored and the bagging delivered. If Alliances cannot make negotiable paper, or give bank relerence, the next best coarse is to order through some merchant of good commercial standing. If these orders are not given at once, the mills will not be able to fill them. It is highly important, therefore, that action be taken without delay. Every order should be in at the earliest day possible, so that the mills, knowing the amount of work to be done, can adjust their business without nn necessary loss. The bagging this season will be nepesaarily expen sive, as tne mills are not prepared with proper looms. For the next season, manufacturers are willing now to guarantee that it shall not cost more than nine cents, if far mers determine permanently to adopt it. ror this season the com mittee contracted for bagging to be uot less than thirty-seven inches wide, to weigh twelve ounces to the pound, at twelve and a half cents per yard. To reduce somewhat, the expense of cotton bagging, and to aid us in utilizing our own pro duct, the manufacturers of the Southern States agree to pay ten cents per hundred pounds more for cotton packed in potton bag ging than cotton packed in jute. Very much of our success in fight inn hurtfut combinations depends upon our united efforts in this our first attack. If we divide and are slaughtered, it will be an invitation toother cormorants to devour our hard-earned substance. Pnited action will defeat the trust: in difference to the efforts ol the com mittee will leave the farmers at the merciless power of a combination that will not hesitate at the ex travagant profits they may secure.
