They ba i obtained permission just after dinner to go down to the seine beach, about a quarter of a mile fiom the village. It was expected that there were men at work there but there wag not and the two children, with two others, pulled cfl their shot s r.nd waded in the water awhile: All bad ccme out of the water except Sadie, the small one, when she took a step too far and fell in tho channel. Her sister Flossie, who was then on the bank putting on her thoes, imme diately sprang in to try to save her, but she also got beyond her depth and ocly sacrificed her life in the vain attempt at rescue. Before drowning ehe called to tbe two little one ashore to reach out a stick, but tbey were too terrified to take serviceable action. The bodies were leoovertd with com paratively little trouble, as it waa known precisely where they sank, lue funeral was held at noon Monday and was very largely attended. The church was packed not a vacant seat waa left in it. Every one who knew these children speak cf them as remarkably bright, studious and industrious. Many hopes are withered by this sad and unex pected termination of their lives, but in tba midst of their grief tbe fond parents have the tender sympathise cf a wide circle of friends and the consolations of religion to aid in sustaining them in their bereavement. tht four vacant places formed by the banda j pressed v. i.h the abundant fish supply . The Argus man overhead a conversa tion yesterday morning between two gentleman on the interesting topic of " bow to make farming pay." The two gentlemen in queetion were Meeers. J. F. Mr. Southerland said that he had the fattest horse in tbe county, and that tie fed him entirely on erabgi ass hay . that he sold STOO worth of hay las fall, fed a number of cittle and horses all winter and had a plenty now for all his uses and all his own raising. Mr. Winelow aays, ''Yea, I counted over two hundred stacks of hay rn your Held last year. How do you cure it.' Mr. Southerland answered, "I don't lay it on the ground. Ia this count ry tbe land is moist and porous and the dampness goes' up into the hay out cf the ground and ruiua it. 1 never let my hay lay on the ground more than one night, an d ofien I don't do that I put down cord wood and shock it on h it, snd then when I 6'.fick it I raise it f ff the ground an 1 riv. the air a chance to blow under it. We learn the adjusteis aro constantly expected to adjust the losrsea sustaictd by tha late (ire. It ia probable the ulti mate losses by this fire will fall more hcavi y upon individuals than usual on account of the inadequacy of tho in.-u ranee to cover losses. The losses of Mr. Mace were also heavy hie three stoics and two fhh packing houses were insured for only fifteen hundred dollars, while worth more th3n twice that Bum, a part cf hia insurance hav ing lapsed a few weeks before the fire. Mr. Wiiite had co insurance, but as his stcck waa mortgaged to Mr. Mace for its full value the entire loss falls on him. We learn, however, Mr. Mice will begin at once to rebuild tho three burnt storea, and will this lirao use brick instead of sheet iron. The Value of Money. Men of unlimited means Larjiy appreciate the value of just one doilar. but with tbe poor every doLar means so much toil and so much effort. It is a comfort to xcow that the poverty striken invalid can derive so much good from su little expenditure, when they invest their dollard in B B. B. (Botanic Blood Balm). W. C. McOsuhey, Webb City. Ar kansas, wri:es: ' B. B B. has done me more good and for less money than any other blood purifier I ever uced. I owe the comfort of my life to it." A. P. McDonald, Atlanta, Ga., writes: "I had a ruanincc ulcer on my leg. Several doctors failed to do it good. Three bottles of 13 B. B. effected a cure. B. B. B. also cured my brother of a running sore. " David Thurman, Atlanta, Ga. ,says: ' I was a constant sufferer for many years with Scrofula and Eczema. A. few bottles cf B. B. B. entirely cured me. " John M Davis, Tyler, Texas, writes: "I was eubjict a number of years to spells of inflammatory rheumatism, which six bottles of B. B. B. thank heaven, has entirely cured. J. W. Lee, is doing in our town. Brother Lee came on Thursday, 2Sth nit. , and morning and night, since tbe first service, the church has been crowded with tbe moet attentive con gregations I ever saw assembled. Tbe sermons have been powerful tbe pare word of God, sharper than a two-edged aword and tho influences of the Holy Spirit have been felt by nearly the whole community. In short we are in the midst of n glo rious revival, and cries of penitence and sbouta of joy are continuously rever berating through the town. Storea have been cloeed during the evening, business suspended, and the most important business of life, that of soil-aaving, haa been prosecuted witb vigor by Bro. Lse, assisted by Rev'ds Sberrill, Robinson, Carraway, Starling and others. The service, on Sabbath morning was one long to be remembered for its glo rious manifestations and results. Thirty seven new converts, embracing many young men, united with the M. E. Church, and four were at the same time received by letter. In tbe afternoon a communion ser vice and experience meeting gave an opportunity for expression, and shouts of j oy reverberated through the build ing aa one after another spoke of tbe joys of salvation. 8everal professed conversion, a num ber of back-sliders returned to their Father's house; the very windows of Heaven seemed open to pour down blessings upon the congregation.
