Isaac Guion settlod first on White Oak
river in Onslow county, from whence he
Removed with his wife to New Bern. By
this nwrriae there were five children, of

Onslow County, and three were natives of
New Bern, viz: Auu Maria (Mrs. llutrh
Jones); John Williams, the father of Dr.
John A. Guion; and Margaret Surah (Mi

Congress made active preparation tur the
war of the Revolution, then jiust at its be

the 1st Regiment of which (Col. James
Moore) Isaac Guion was appointed Sur
geou, his conimi8.-ion bearing date 1-t
September, 1775 On the 11th ol 1 K- em
ber, 1776, he was appointed Conimissiry
of the 0th Reinnitiit of Continentals, of1
which hLs relative, Johu Pugh Williams,
was Colonel, and in March, 1777, lie was
transferal to fhe 7th Regiment, (Colour!
James HoguD), as Paymaster, in which
capacity he served until J'y, J77S, when
the regiments of the North Carolina Line
were reduced in number and conHolidat. .1
It ia worthy ol note that his emi-in ol ilie
same name, Isaao Guion of the New
Rochelle family, also served as a 'ontin
ental ofBer, having Iiecn in the New
York Line throughout the war of our
Revolution, and afterwards in the United
States Army.
