owner it is wished to sell them. Two
dollars and a half is the price asked and
sometimes obtained, but ir that price is
objected, almost any amount offered will

cents even We have heard of some oper
ations, in the country Jtnd two of the men
have just worked the upper part of this
cily gulling quite a number ot ihe
unwary and every pair of tbe spectacles,
according to their story, was "found."
Atlantic Hotel Leased.
Mr. Wink Taylor the present. ' proprie
tor of the Grand Central Hotel at Colum
bia, S. C, will run the Atlantic Hotel at
Morehead th,e comvig season. A special
lelegram to ihe Wilmington Star from
Raleigh says the syndicate leased it to
him on the 5th.
We hope a brilliant season lies before
the Atlantic and that he will find his pro
prietorsnip of tbe Atlantic Hotel a very
profitable one.

their appearance in advance of the Fair.
While there are are always a few persons
who get innocently trapped by these pro
fessionals the majority cf those takes in
are numbered among tbe unwary and
"Smart Alecks."
These migratory fleecers of the public
can he found at all public gatherings, but
if they are not very careful here, they
will soon find themselves in the clutches
of the law.
