of its convening so late in the week was
that His H"iior was detained at Hyde

could not reach Stonewall until Tthsday
night.
The Judge got to Pamlico on the night
ot Tuesday the l'Jth, and court began
Wednesday morning.
One white man accused of larceny was
trii d and acquitted.
Nat Potter was tried for an affray with
A. B. Uampan and convicted. Mr. Cam

It will be lvrat inhered that during (lie
summer a negro at Stonewall tried to kill
his wife on the streets of that place he
ilM tried to shod her but the pistol failed
to the. Then he knocked her down and
heat her with an ohk club as large us a

There are also two cases to be tiicd in
which the charges are furnishing prison

Three negroes are to be tried for bro ik

The case in which the most interest is
felt is that ot the negro murderer, G de
