Hon. Charles Shepard Bryan, a native
of "ew Berne, died iu Casville Missouri
on Sunday the 8th, dav of March in the
sixty fouith year of his age.
Mr. Bryan was a graduate of the Uni
versity of this State, and brother of Judge
Wm. S. Bryan of Maryland and Judge
Henry K. Bryan of this city.
He was a prominent man ot Missouri,
and of g'eat populiritj in his county and
District. He had filled many positions of
public trust Presidential elector, mem

At "The Oaks'' near New Berne, Thurs
day, March 12, 1896, Mr. Benjamin
Ciomwell Harrison, in the 2Hh year ol
his age.
Mr. Harrison came from Xorfolk, Va..
about five years at"0 to engage in truck
farming. For about three years be has
been in the employ of Messrs. Hackburn
& Willett.
Modest, industrious and kind, he will j
be greatly missed by his friends. To them -and
especially to his young wife, nee M'ss
Minnie Wade of New Berne, whom be
married only four months ago, xve extend
our heartfelt sympathy. J
