Morgan followed the man and meeting a white man who had a pistol they continued the pursuit and soon captured the fleeing one. The negro wu taken before Justice of the Peace Claude Taylor , who sent him up to New Bern jali'to await trial at the next term of Superior Court :. Button Is now In Jail here but will have nothing to say, neither denying or confessing the crime.
