The' case of the negro Bryant who was shot j hv rVinatnhlo Hnnchr. Stvrnn on .Tuna . 23rd, and who on account of the nature of the wound' it was thought that he could not possibly survive. The opera tion conducted by Dr. Primrose, howev-! er, was entirely successful and the man ' is past all danger. He will soon be dis charged. The case is regarded by many as a triumph of surgery . and worthy of more than passing note. . . The case of Cicero Buck, white, who was almost crushed to death by being caught between a belt and a fly wheel of the engine at the Griffith street mill last Saturday, is regarded as out of the ordinary as bis injurieswere considered very serious. We could' mention many others who have received benefits there and it is well to call attention once in a while to the sanatarium as a place to get well ' There is great need of pupil nurses there. Young women can receive ex pert instruction and be placed in posi tion to gain a competent livelihood. It is a fascinating occupation. Miss Ellen Clarke an accomplished and experienced nurse from Fayetteville is expected soon to take the position of assistant superintendent. The nurses employed there are in demand all the time, and it has been found convenient if not nec essary to have substitutes upon whom to depend. STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA Department of State. Nobodv btlt as far back as historX s U has rcarded the greatest curse of mankind. ;, No part of the body is beyond the reach of this powerful poison. No matter how pure the blood may be, when the virus of Contagious Blood Poison enters, the entire circulation becomes corrupted, the humiliating symptoms begin to appear, and the sufferer finds himself diseased from head to foot with the vilest and most destructive of all poisons. Usual. v r. e,7- :e a -mail J"r'"'" - " " suspicion, but in a short while the skin breaks out m a red rash, the glands of the groin swell, the throat and mouth ulcerate, ft, l,air anA eve-brows come out. and often th ig covered wita J . spots, pustular eruptions and There is hardly any limit fes of Contagious Blood Poison; if it is not riven from the blood it affects the nerves, attacks the bones, and in extreme cases causes tumors to form on the brain, pro ducing insanity and death. No other dis ease is so highly contagious; many an inno cent person has become infected by using the same toilet articles, handling the clothing, by a friendly handshake or the kiss of affection from one afflicted. . But no matter how the disease is contracted, the sufferer feels humiliation and degradation that accompany the; vile disorder. ' Mercury and Potash are commonly used in the treatment of Contagious Blood Poison, but these minerals cannot cure the disease they merely mask it in the system. All ex ternal evidences may disappear for awhile, but the treacherous poison is at work ou the internal members and tissues, and when these minerals are left off the disease returns worse than before, because the entire system has been weakened and damaged by the strong action of the Mercury and Potash. There is but one certain, reliable cure for Contagious Blood Poison, and that is S. S. S., the great vegetable blood purifier. It attacks the disease in the right way by going down into the blood, neutralizing and forcing out every particle of the poison. It makes the blood pure and rich, strengthens the different parts of the body, tones up the system, and cures this humiliating and destructive disorder permanently. The improvement commences as soon as the patient gets and continues until every vestige of the poison is driven from the blood and the sufferer OO PURELY VEGETABLE reward of $1,000 for proof that it contains a particle of mineral of any kind. If you are suffering with this despicable and debasing disease, get it out of your blood with S. S. & before it does further damage.
