First came Miss Bessie Carmon of Lima first bridesmaid, attended by Mr. Bogey Richardson of Bellair, who was first groomsman, then Miss Lizette HanIT and Jay Humphrey, a brother of the bride, Miss Rosa Wooten and Mr. John Humphrey, also a brother of the bride; Miss Louise Dixon, who was maid of honor and Mr. Wilbur Foscue, the best man preceded the bride and groom. While the ceremony was being performeJ, Hearts and Flowers was softly played. The words having been Bpoken making them man and wife, the strains of Mendelssohn's wedding march filled the building and the bridal party retired in perfect order. The bride wore a becoming gown of white lace over white taffeta, maid of honor looked very pretty in white aeo lian silk. All the bridesmaids were beautifully attired in white organdies. After the marriage the bridal party returned to the home of the bride's parents where a dinner was given, and to which a large number of friends were invited. The home was tastefully decorated with palms, ferns md potted plants for the occasion. The presents received were many, and very handsome . The bride is the accomplished daugh ter of Mr. John Humphrey and Clark's most attractive young lady. She has a host of friends in this community, who wish her much happiness. On Wednes day afternoon a brilliant reception was given to the bridal party at the beauti ful home of the groom. The present home of Mr. and Mrs. Foscue is at Pollocksville. The groom is the oldest son of Mr. C. Foscue, is a very accomplished young man. having graduated from A. & M. College with high honors. He is now a very prosperous liveryman at Pollocks ville. A. The technical charge is abduction but there are features in the case strongly in favor of the defendant. The prisoner was the foreman of a gang nf workmen on the construction of the Raleigh A Pamlico Sound railway and i said to be well connected in Wil mington.; Mr. R. B. Nixon has been engaged as his attorney and for spec ial reasons expressed by the defendent has requested that his name be sup pressed at present The plans for the North Carolina building at the Jamestown Exposition have been accepted and the structure will be a credit to the State.
