Watkina Company of Balti more, Maryland whose advertisiements for salesmen have been appearing reg ularly in the Journal inform us that under certain circumstances they are prepared to supply their salesmen with wagons to assist them in getting start ed at the work. It ia interesting to note that the company ha these wagons made in large quantities in three differ ent cities in the United States, so as to be able to quickly furnish a wagon, in whatever part of the country it may be needed. It requires several hundred wsgons each year just to replace those that wear out, to aay nothing of sup plying the vast number of nw sales men that are constantly taking up the work. The company issues a regular wagon catalogue with illustrations of all the different styles and kinds, which makes it very 'easy for the salesmen to ot der any particular kind, of a combination that may suit him. If it were possible to get all of the 2.000 of the company' wagon salesmen togeth er at one time, . it would be a -most interesting sight ., Paul Kayser, pilot of the balloon Dus " if IV, was killed in a descent in t Z ; Jor Zee. . UNITED STATES FOR PEACE Treaty With France. Along Same Line as Eugland'a. Will Stop all Wars. ; ' Washington, March, 23 -Robert Ba con, the American Ambassador to France, had a conference with President Taft and later was a luncheon guest at the White House. Hia visit was given an ad iitional interest at this time ow ing to the fact that there is a general belief here that negotiation's soon may be opened between the United States and France looking to the adoption of an arbitration treaty similar to the one that has been propose 1 between the Unired States and Great Britain. Such a treaty would provide for the submission of all matters in dispute be tween the two countries, even includ ing tlx S3 of national honor and terri tory to an arbitral court and would make war practically impossible. President Tafc continue? to receive reports daily ot the favor with wh'ch his proposal has been received in Great Britain nnd is deeply gratified over the fact. The movement seems to have struck a popular chord in Europe, accor ding to reports received at the White House and there is a ehince that other countries even than France eventually may be brought int an arbitration agreement with the United States. The President feels that if he can ne gotiate one or two treaties of this kind they will stand as the greatest success es of his administration. A.
