The United States Civil Service Commission announces that on June 28 an examination will be held at New Bern, N. C, as a result of which it is expected to make certification to fill a contemplated vacancy in the position of fourth class postmaster at Bayboro, N, C. and other vacancies as they may occur at that office, un less it shall be decided in the interests of the service to fill the vacancy by reinstatement. The compensation of the postmaster at this office was $459 toe the last fiscal year. Age limit, 21 years and over on the date of the examination, with the ex ception that in a State where women are declared by statute to be of filtl age for all purposes at 18 years, women 18 years of age on the date of the ex amination will be admitted. Applicants must reside within the territory supplied by the post office for which the examination is -announced. The examination is open to all cit izens of the United States who can comply with the requirements. Applications form and fi ll informa tion . A few hours after the potatoes had been shipped the market price dropi id and the commission house wired him to cancel the order. At that time it was too late to do this and the shipment went forward. "The commission house was to have wired the money for the potatoes to the Beaufort bank and it this had been done it would have saved Mr. Wiley much trouble and embarrassment but they failed to do this and when Mr. Hancock presented his check for pay ment it was turned dow n. Acting Without giving the matter due consideration, Mr. Hancock at once came to New Bern and swore out a warrant for Mr. Wiley's arrest lhe matter is now straightened out and Mr. Wiley has returned to his home in Pamlico county for a few day's vis't before going out on the road to continue his business. Mr. Kafer is an influential citizen and tne action ot Mr, Keith in recom mending him has the approval of the majority of the citizens of New Bern and it is the general opinion that he could not have found a man more cap able of holding the office.
