SCHOOL TRUSTEES HOLD MEETING Contract For Erection of New Building Has Not Been Awarded. SEVERAL COMMIT : HT.S NAME!? Election of Teachers Postponed Until Meeting Next Friday. The Board of Trustees of the New Bern Graded Schools held a meeting yesterday to award the contract for the construction of the proposed new school building and to elect teach ers for the next (grin, but action in both matters was deferred. Two committees were appointed, one to get up a list of teachers and the other other to confer with the building committee relative to the construction of the building. "C D. Uradhara and S. M. Brinson were appointed as a cotniattttee to assist the building committee named some time ago to get..an architect to draw up plans and specifications for the new building which will be located on I lie New street side of the school yard near the Jones property. S. M. Brinson, T. L). Warren and R.A. Nunn were appointed as a com mittee to get up a list of teachers for next term and to present this list at a meeting of the Board lo be held next Friday. A committee composed ol Charles R. Thomas, Col. James A Bryan and C. S. Hollister were ap pointed to go before the Board ol Alder men at their next meeting and request the issuance of the school improve ment bonds voted upon sometime ago. The Board ordered that tile superin tendent's report and the financial statement of the school be published.
