A. of Anderson high school held its regular monthly meeting in the school auditorium Saturday afternoon, September IS, at 3:00 o’clock, with Mrs. W. D. Florance presiding and Miss Georgia Hooper acting as secre tary. Rev. Mr. Jones, principal of the school, opened the meeting with prayer and scripture reading. The eight months school term was discussed. Securing a music teacher for the school term was also discussed "and Mrs. C. R. Vaughn was appointed as one of the committee to do their best in securing a music teacher. A motion was made and second ed that the P. T. A. entertain the doctors of Alamance and Caswell counties on the second Tuesday in October. She has long brown tresses and lair complexion. » •_ _ ter which a very interesting pro gram waS rendered consisting of: Readings, vocal solos, a very in teresting talk which was the main feature on the program, "Closer Relationship of Parent and Teach er,” by Mrs. VV. J. Barker of Bur lington. N. C. Mr. Sullivan, our county school superintendent, made us a very interesting talk, this ending the program with a social hour. Re freshments consisting of Sand wiches, lemonade, iced tea and cake were served. There was a large number in at tendance. We were very glad to have the Prospect Hill P. T. A. as our visitors. RIDGEVILLE ITEMS Mrs. Carrie Gamble, of Hick ory, N. C., spent several weeks with Mrs. J. D. Burton. Mr. and Mrs. Irving Warren spent Sunday with Mrs. Warren's parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Bur ton. The regular service was held at Bethel Methodist church Sunday. Quite a number attended. The Christian Endeavor So ciety met Sunday night at Bethel church. A very interesting pro gram was rendered. Miss Margaret Burton, who is in Durham school, spent the week-end at home. Miss Olivia Harmond, of Chapel Hill, spent several days last week with Mrs. V. X- War ren. Little Mary Foster Warren has been ill for some time but is im nrnvincr Miss Elizabeth Compton, of Durham, spent the week-end with her mother, Mrs. T. Y. Compton. The ladies of the neighborhood met with the house committee at the school building Friday to do general cleaning, for the opening of school. Mrs. L. A. Boland, Misses Lois Burton and Mamie Fuqua spent Thursday in Burlington observ ing the different grades of the Burlington graded schools. The Prospect Hill P. T. A. ways and means committee serv ed refreshments and lunches at the Mebane Fair. The exact amount realized is not yet known. Miss Lois Burton Spent last week with Mrs. M. W. Ferguson and attended the Fair. Mrs. D. F„ Wilkinson and Miss Myrtle Wilkinson spent Thursday in Burlington and Graham. Misses Nancy and Annie Laurie Burton were the hostesses of a most enjoyed house party last week, having as their guests Misses Hulda and Janie Sue Hes ter and Mary Bradsher. Miss Bettie Boswell visited relatives in Wilson, N. C., Sun day. Little Frances Burton spent last week with her aunt, Mrs. \V. B. Jones, of Mebane. Miss May Williams and Mr. lack McAdams called on Miss l.ois Burton Sunday afternoon. Quite a number of the parents attended school opening Monday morning. PROSPECT NOTES A very enjoyable reunion was held Sunday, September t8, in the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Po teat. The dinner was served on a long table, under the shade of the giant oaks, and was loaded with an abundance of good things to eat. An ice course was served during the social hour. Miss Mary Foster, of Blanche, and Miss Nellie Foster, of Reids ville, Route "A", wer'e guests of Miss Eva Walker the past week. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Jeffries announce the birth of a daughter, September 12. Mrs. E. L. Kiger is reported on the sick list.
