Starnes, to the recent changes that have been made in the schedule of services for Prospect and Bethel Churches, on the Yanceyville charge. Here after there will be preaching at Prospect Church on the second Sunday afternoon at 3 o’clock in stead of on the first Sunday after noon, and at Bethel Church at 3 o’clock on the first Sunday instead of on the second Sunday. The schedule of services for the entire Yanceyville charge are as follows: 1st'Sunday—Yanceyville, 11 and 7 o’clock. 1st Sunday—Bethel, 3 o’clock. -- 2nd -Sunday—Locust Hill, 11 o’clock. 2nd Sunday—Prospect, 3 o’clock 3rd Sunday—Bethel, 11 o’clock. LEA, OF BLANCH VERY ILL AT MEMORIAL HOSPITAL W. N. Lea, who has been making his home for three years with his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. S. E. Farmer, at Blanch, has been in declining health for some- j time. Recently he become so ill as to make his removal to Memor ial hospital, Danville, necessary The doctors are said to be puzzled about Mr. Lea's malady. But he is now improved and ready to re turn home soon. Mrs. Rertha Lea Chapman and Miss Fannie Lea, both teachers at) the Bartlett Yancey high school! are the daughters of Mr. Lea. Other daughters sire: Miss Leaste j Lea, now teaching at State Teach ers College, Troy, Alabama; Mis; Stella Lea, now teaching at Wil son, N. C„ and Miss Ola Lea, of Soochow, China, who has been | teaching there as u missionary for about three years prior to the rev olution, but who has betnr sinew the school was closed by the revo lution in China, doing evangelis tic work. Miss Lesaie Len graduated and taught for-four years at the Stktt ' Teachers College, Farmville, Va. ■ Since that time she has won her ‘‘B.S.” and her Master’s degrees; at Peabody College, Nashville, Temi. ■ ' _ j Mr. W. N. Lea and his accom plished family—own a home at Ringgold, Va., and lived there prior to coming to'Caswell three years ago. Messrs. McConnell and MOOSE IN YANC EVMLLE M. I’. McConnell and M. A Moose, of Rurllngton, respectively the manager and assis tant manag er of the J. C. Penny Company's store at Burlington, were visitors in the village last Monday, stop-j ping in while here to greet the Messenger folks and to take a peep at the print shop. The Mes senger appreciates the friendly j call very much, and all the more so because these friends took parti of their Christmas holiday to make an excursion" up into Cas well. We trust that they will come often now that they have found the way. A TURKEY DINNER AT THE WILLIAMSON'S Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Williamson; served a delightful turkey dinner with all the trimmins’ to a small company of the home folks, on Wednesday of this week. Those partaking of the hospitality of Mr. and Mrs. Williamson were: Mrs. Leila Williamson, Mr. and Mrs. A. K. Williamson and family, Mr. and Mrs. J, B. Turner and family, Mrs J. H. Henderson and daughter, Florine Henderson, have returned from a motor trip to the valley of Virgi-; nia, seeing the sights of that won derful stretch of country. Messrs, | Dailey and Hendersoii were en-i raptured with the fine stock farms and herds of beautiful catt le. They ; were successful in purchasing aj number of highly bred Guernsey cows, some of which they hope to dispose of to ot’her farmers of this county. * MRS. BASON HOSTESS TO Y.^P. MISSIONARY SOCIETY* Mrs. S. M. Bason* was hostess to the members of the Presbyterian! Young Peoples’ Missionary Socie ty Thursday afternoon. A much! enjoyed contest was entered into, j Mrs. 8. J. Henderson won the prize ; a dainty powder puff. . Each member received a gife from the beautiful Christmas tree. refreshments, consisting of hot chocolate and sandwiches were served.
