The Schubert Symphony Quartette
On Friday night, Nov. 16, the
Schubert Symphony Quartette will
give a concert in the Chapel for the
benefit of the University Athletic
Association. For several reasons
j they should be greeted by a large
audience; chiefly, becasue their con
cert is of a high order; they come to
us, while making the rounds of the
large towns of the State, without
any guarantee, at all; and because
the Athletic Association is not only
eminently worthy of, but is in act
ual need of, the support of the stu
dents. Let every body turn out.
The University of Virginia Col
lege Topics has the following to
say about the troupe:
"The concert in the Public Hall,
last Friday evening, was the occa
sion of quite a large outpouring of
University society. The Schubert
Symphony Quartette were on hand
in force, and for two hours charmed
the audience with their novel and
pleasing music. A ladies' quar
tette is something quite out of the
ordinary, and they were encored
loudly at every appearance. Little
lommie was the iovonte ot the oc
casion, being repeatedly called back.
In fact, the audience was so well
pleased that toward the end the
club was forced to refuse further
encores on account of the lateness
of the hour." ' .
