The Historical Society,
The U. N. C. Historical Society
met last Thursday night in Dr.Bat
tie's lecture room, and heard some
interesting papers discussed.
Mr. Daggett read the first paper
on the Battle of Caniden, and was
heartily applauded.
Mr. Woodson read a paper con
taining valuable facts on the Coun
cil of 1776.
Mr. P. T. Check followed with a
delightful discussion of the Person
nel of the State Convention of 1832.
Dr. Battle then gave a descrip
tion of some valuable Revolutionary
relics he saw while in Charleston
recently, after which the Society
adjourned.
