Within the first few minutes of play he received a blow on the head that completely dazed him for the rest of the game. At times he failed to recognize his own men and frequently he had to be told what the signals and plays were. He played like one in a dream and has very little, recollection of the contest. In the foot ball season that has just closed, among the many others of our men who have acquitted them selves with honor is W. D. Carmi chael, Manager. He has held with ability and fidelity a difficult posi tion and one that involved a great deal of hard work. The college is under many obli gations to Mr. Carmichael and owes him a vote-i of thanks for what he has done so well. . The Medical team was victorious in Greensboro, defeating the alleg ed Medical team of Davidson by the close score of 4-0. The Davidson team was composed of the regular college players, while the U. N. C. Meds only played their own class men. The game was a slugging contest from end to end, but Dr. Monroe, of Davidson, who umpired the game, ruled no one off. Mr. Lawrence McRae ex '97 acted as Referee. The team was given a reception at the Normal in the evening and every body reports a most enjoyable trip. Charlotte defeated Greensboro by a score of 10-0 for the Championship of the State.
